Electrical Aggregation
At the June 27, 2023 City Council meeting, Council reviewed and approved a residential and businesses green energy aggregation program based on market-bid rates for 100% Renewable Energy Credit (REC) national wind energy. Dynegy Energy Services is the supplier for the City of Bexley Aggregation Program, with a rate of $0.0686 per kWh. This 20-month rate constitutes a substantial savings to residents over the current AEP price to compare ($0.112 per kWh); at the current (July, 2023) rate, the average Bexley household will see their bill drop by approximately $47.50 per month based upon the negotiated rate.

The City has been researching and planning for several years to leverage electrical aggregation to procure community-wide clean energy for Bexley. With AEP's standard rate having increased significantly over the past several months, the timing was advantageous to move forward with aggregation.

It’s also important to note residents that residents will have the opportunity to opt in or opt out of this program at any time. While some residents have reported receiving calls about aggregation, these calls are not from or affiliated with the City of Bexley at this time; initial letters are being mailed in the middle of July.
