So you’d like to submit your alley for the Alley of the Future contest!
On September 7, we kicked off the Alley of the Future design competition with a workshop and launch event at Bexley Public Library! At the event, we outlined the program timeline, answered questions, and shared examples of project ideas.
Our next event is the Ask-an-Expert Panel and Q&A at Bexley Public Library on Wednesday, September 28 starting at 6:30 pm. At this event we’ll have five experts joining us to answer questions about your project ideas. Panelist experts have a background in stormwater management, permeable pavement options, native plantings, next generation lighting technology, and process and policy.
Application Steps and Instructions:
- Create a concept! Our workshops serve as a resource you can use, but inspiration for your Alley of the Future concepts can come from you, your neighbors, and/or any sources you wish to draw from. Get creative!
- Work with your neighbors to socialize your concept and make changes, additions, or subtractions based upon feedback you receive. Our Ask an Expert and Open Office Hours events will be great resources to help refine concepts.
- Circulate an application petition, to make sure that alley neighbors are aware of the application and are on board with the plan being proposed. Applications need at least 75% approval from alley properties in order to be considered.
- Complete the application online by Friday, Oct. 14! Complete applications include a submitted concept, petition, and narrative details submitted on the application.
