Chief of Police Finalists Town Hall
July 6, 2022 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm
Bexley High School, 326 S Cassingham Rd, Columbus, OH 43209, USASeven candidates for chief of police were interviewed by the interview committee last week. The interviews further underscored the depth and diversity of experience these candidates offer and also served to illuminate their individual personalities and communication styles.
Four finalist candidates were selected to move forward to final interviews and a community forum.
Due to candidate schedules, it was necessary to mobilize for final interviews and a town hall next week. The next step for the process will be for the interview committee to hold in-depth interviews on July 6, and for a follow up community town hall forum with the candidates on the evening of July 6. The town hall will be held at the Bexley High School Theatre at 6:30 pm on July 6, and will be facilitated by Gayle Saunders, who assisted with the community report. We are asking for questions from the community to be considered as part of the town hall.
To provide a question(s) for consideration, please click here.
As a reminder, resources will continue to be posted to bexley.org/chiefsearch.

Forgotten Landmarks of Columbus
July 25, 2022 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Bexley Public Library, 2411 E Main St, Columbus, OH 43209, USAJoin authors Doreen Uhas Sauer and Tom Betti as they uncover many interesting, lost, and forgotten landmarks of Columbus like the Walk of Wonders and the Chittenden Hotel.
As the crossroads city of the Midwest, Columbus has always thrived. Over the years, many of the city’s most important and most beautiful buildings—packed with marble, ornate metalwork, painted ceilings and glitz and glamour—have been reduced to dust or left in disrepair. Union Station and stately mansions of well-to-do industrialists are no longer there to tell the story of the city. The Alfred Kelley Mansion, the Chittenden Hotel, the Franklin County Courthouse and the Walk of Wonders in the Great Western Shopping Center were lost, but the palatial Ohio Theatre and the modest Captain Eddie Rickenbacker Home, both designated National Historic Landmarks, were saved.
