Singer-songwriter Parker MacDonell hosts a monthly concert series featuring performances from local songwriters around Columbus. Every two seconds, someone in the U.S. needs blood. Blood is essential to help patients survive surgeries, cancer treatment, chronic illnesses, and traumatic injuries. This lifesaving care starts with one person making a generous donation. The need for blood is constant. But only about 3% of age-eligible people donate blood yearly. You can help the American Red Cross make sure that supply meets demand.

It feels good to give! Blood donors report feeling a sense of great satisfaction after making their donation. Why? Because helping others in need just feels good.

Join us at Bexley City Hall to celebrate the ribbon cutting of And We Will Float 'Til Then, the beautiful mural that has transformed the alley just west of Giant Eagle and south of Bexley City Hall. We'll have light refreshments and remarks from the artist, Luka Barlow Weinberger, along with a chance to learn more about Bexley's Public Art Plan. Mark your calendars to join us on October 23!

Join Kari Gunter-Seymour, past Poet Laureate of Ohio, at the Bexley Public Library as we celebrate the release of her latest poetry collection, All That Teethes Within. Gunter-Seymour's latest collection of poems reckons with the incomprehensible reality of a sibling's suicide, serving as a guide for survival and a call to speak the truth of our anguish and our rapture. Gunter-Seymour will be in conversation with Fred Andrle for a discussion on processing profound grief through writing, being in community with others, and appreciating the beauty of nature and Appalachian landscape.

Students in grades K-5 are invited to a special printmaking workshop using LEGOs! Local artist Christine D’Epiro Abbott will lead the workshop and teach students how to make their own unique designs using the popular LEGO® bricks. All supplies will be provided, but registration is required. Registration opens Monday October 19 at 10:00 AM.

Pollinator gardens have become one of today’s hottest garden design trends, offering beauty while supporting bees, butterflies, birds, and other essential wildlife. But creating these spaces can take many forms—from a simple backyard planting to large-scale community collaborations.

Join renowned horticulturist Debra Knapke as she shares her journey of designing pollinator gardens, from her own home landscape to developing pollinator garden templates used across Ohio. Along the way, she'll explore what she's discovered about native plants, pollinators, and the vibrant communities that grow around these shared spaces. Learn how collaboration, connection, and a fresh perspective on garden aesthetics can help create pollinator gardens that are both ecologically rich and visually stunning.

Acclaimed poet and essayist Aimee Nezhukumatathil visits the Bexley Public Library to celebrate the release of Night Owl, her fifth collection of poetry that explores love, nature, and the transformative power of the night. Pulitzer Prize winning poet Diane Seuss calls Night Owl "meticulously artful, with a steadfast insistence on tenderness and love." Aimee will be joined by Columbus poet, essayist, and cultural critic Hanif Abdurraqib for a poetry reading and conversation.

Join Green Bexley at the semiannual Repair Café and give your treasured possessions a second life! Got a broken toaster, a wobbly chair, or a favorite sweater with a hole? Don't throw it out—bring it to our autumn Repair Café at the Bexley Public Library!

The Green Bexley Repair Café is a free community event focused on reducing waste by reviving the lost art of repair. Bring items in disrepair and consult with volunteer repair experts about what's not working. If the repair expert can fix your item onsite within a reasonable timeframe, they'll do it free of charge.
