Seven candidates for chief of police were interviewed by the interview committee last week. The interviews further underscored the depth and diversity of experience these candidates offer and also served to illuminate their individual personalities and communication styles.

Four finalist candidates were selected to move forward to final interviews and a community forum. Information on these candidates is below:

Due to candidate schedules, it was necessary to mobilize for final interviews and a town hall next week. The next step for the process will be for the interview committee to hold in-depth interviews on July 6, and for a follow up community town hall forum with the candidates on the evening of July 6. The town hall will be held at the Bexley High School Theatre at 6:30 pm on July 6, and will be facilitated by Gayle Saunders, who assisted with the community report. We are asking for questions from the community to be considered as part of the town hall.

I’m excited by the exceptional candidates we interviewed and am eager to move into the next steps of this process. Thank you for your continued input and support as we work to identify Bexley’s next Chief of Police!

As a reminder, resources will continue to be posted to bexley.org/chiefsearch.
