Memorial Day Service – Remembering Bill Harvey
While we take time each year on Memorial Day to honor those who have served, this year holds a special place for our community and in my heart as we’ll take time to reflect on the life and service of Bexley’s own Bill Harvey. As many of you know, Bill served our community in many ways, as a Service Director, City Auditor, a Mayoral Candidate, and through Service to his country in the US Army. Bill and his wife Moe also helped to coordinate the Memorial Day Service for Bexley each year. Bexley is better thanks to the work and service of this remarkable man and he will be immeasurably missed. I hope you’ll join us Monday at 11:00 am at Drexel Circle for this somber and important time of remembrance.

Talent and Courage to Celebrate
At the last council meeting, we recognized students and faculty of St. Charles and our own School Resource Officer, Officer Grimes, for their life-saving work. We also celebrated Marius Garcia, who brought home the State Championship in Wrestling for Bexley High School this past season. I also had the opportunity to present The Mayor’s Cup this week, a distinction that has been awarded each year since 1927 to two students who demonstrate outstanding sportsmanship and athleticism at Bexley High School. At this week’s BHS Senior Awards ceremony, the Cup was presented to Solomon “Solly” McDow and Anja Hoy. Congratulations to these amazing students and athletes!

COhatching on Main Street
Pardon our dust as construction at COhatch’s newest Central Ohio location continues on Main Street. With an anticipated October opening, there will be lots to fall in love with at Bexley’s COhatch. Want to check out the space before it opens? View renderings and learn about the coworking amenities and membership benefits here.

Four Seas: A Fun Find Off the Beaten Path
As Four Things readers are undoubtedly aware, I love to cook. And I find Szechuan and Thai and other asian cuisines particularly fun to explore. I wanted to share a fun option just around the corner from us… Four Seas Asian Market, at 1313 Alum Creek Drive (in the former Bron Shoe company building), just around the corner from the new Middle West Spirits Distilleryfacility, has a great selection of hard-to-find ingredients, and a very friendly and welcoming ownership and staff.
