Monday, August 28 through Friday, September 1
Summer is upon us and many construction projects are in full swing. As a reminder, please be sure to use extreme caution when driving, biking, or walking near an active construction area. When driving, please proceed slowly and be prepared to stop when workers are present. We appreciate your patience and care in keeping our crews safe!
South Drexel Avenue:
Work will continue on Drexel Avenue between Dale to Elm with temporary workday lane and road closures to through traffic on Drexel between Dale and Elm. Northbound traffic will be detoured from Dale to Dawson and then north to Elm and back to Drexel. Southbound traffic will be detoured from Elm to Columbia and then south to Dale and back to Drexel. Crews will assist residents in accessing their residences throughout the construction. Please be sure to seek assistance before driving in a closed area, as drop-offs and other hazards will be present.
Please also note that sidewalks are closed on the east side of Drexel Avenue between Fair and Elm. Please use sidewalks on the west side of Drexel until work is complete in this area.
Columbia Gas Line Replacement:
Work is scheduled to continue on College Avenue from Livingston to Astor and on Pleasant Ridge Avenue south of Astor. College Avenue will be open to two-way through traffic, with some temporary workday lane closures with flaggers present. Please be aware that some delays are likely when traveling through the work zone between the hours of 9:00 am and 4:00 pm.
We expect some temporary road closures on Pleasant Ridge Avenue this week for pavement repairs and pipe installation. Detours will route traffic to Francis Avenue when closures are required. If you have specific questions or concerns about the Columbia Gas project, please contact Luka Papalko at (614) 420-1376 or by email at LPapalko@nisource.com.
Work will be temporarily stopped on Grandon Avenue between Astor and Mound this week. Thecrews are scheduled to resume work on Tuesday, September 5. Grandon Avenue will be open to through traffic during this time with some on-street parking allowed.
Charles Street east of Grandon will be closed for several months to allow for material and equipment staging during construction. Please notify the Water Department at 614-559-4273 if you are a resident of Grandon Avenue and have questions or concerns.
