Yard Sale & Freecycle Day
Yard Sale and Freecycle Day is back this year! This annual event is a great opportunity for residents to discard unwanted, usable items and re-home them to neighbors. Conversely, residents are able to obtain new-to-them items for a fraction of the price. In addition to keeping items out of the landfill, these events allow residents the opportunity to mingle and enjoy the outdoors.
Saturday, May 15th:
8:00 am - 1:00 pm: Yard Sale Event
1:00 pm - 5:00 pm: Freecycle Event
Program Details & Registration
Saturday, May 15th from 8:00 am - 1:00 pm - Community Yard Sale:
The Community Yard Sale will run from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm. Any resident may host a yard sale, provided they register with City Hall. Yard sales may be held in the front yard for this one day only, but may not be held on or in front of the sidewalk or in the street. Registration is free!
Saturday, May 15th from 1:00 - 5:00 pm – Community Freecycle Event:
The Community Freecycle event will run from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm, immediately following the community yard sale. During these hours, residents may place items that are unsold between the sidewalk and the curb. Items that do not fit in this area may be placed directly behind the sidewalk (between the sidewalk and the house). Items or groupings of items must be clearly marked as free for the taking, and must be marked "Freecycle Day."
Leftover Items? Donate Them!
Any items not taken by 5:00 pm on Sunday must be removed from the front yard and disposed of or recycled via other means. Blue donation bins from Goodwill will be available if there are leftover items you'd like to donate. The bins will be placed at the Bexley Service Garage, 1777 Delmar Drive, until 8:00 am Tuesday, May 18th. Goodwill representatives will not be present, and we are unable to issue donation receipts for any items donated.
Nope! It is up to you how you'd like to participate. We ask that you indicate whether you'll be participating in one or both events when you register.
No, that is not mandatory. If you'd like to indicate that your items are free for taking, we've created this permission slip that you can print and display during your freecycle sale.
If you have items leftover after the freecycle portion of the day has concluded at 5:00 pm, there will be Goodwill donation bins stationed at the Bexley Service Garage at 1777 Delmar Drive. Please drop your leftover items here so they can be donated and put to good use elsewhere – let's keep as much out of the landfill as we can!
The City will advertise this event throughout May, leading up to May 15th. Ultimately, the advertisement of individual sales is up to the person hosting the sale. We will be creating an interactive map of locations participating in this event, but we recommend if you're hosting a yard sale that you share the information with family and friends!
Yard Sale & Freecycle Map
Each indicator below will display the location of the yard sale and a list of items being sold. Some yard sales will not be displayed on this map, and new addresses will be added daily leading up to the event.
