Electric Vehicle CHARGING IN BEXLEY
Electric vehicles are a energy-efficient and financially effective way to get around town, and are becoming increasingly popular in Bexley and beyond. To encourage their use in our community, the City has installed multiple public EV chargers in our main commercial corridor and parks (see the map below). Thanks to the Dynegy Greenbacks Program - available to the City as part of our green electric aggregation program - these chargers were installed through a sustainability grant.
Bexley is committed to maintaining and expanding a network of electric vehicle chargers for municipal, private, and public use throughout the community. Read more about our sustainability efforts in our Strategic Plan, here.

Purchasing an Electric Vehicle
Purchasing an EV can be an exciting—and overwhelming—process. Reliable information can be found through the EPA and information about specific vehicles is available here.
Charging an Electric Vehicle
Bexley's public electric vehicle chargers cost $1 per hour, paid through the Park Mobile app.
Residents interested in installing personal chargers must apply for an electrical permit.
Municipal EVs
In 2021, the City of Bexley adopted a policy that places a moratorium on the purchase of internal combustion vehicles when mainstream electric alternatives are available in the marketplace. The City fleet currently includes electric police and Code enforcement vehicles, as well as an electric bicycle, motorcycle, and trucks.
