Senior Center Temporary Location - We've Moved

Temporary Location: Paramount Church, 211 N. Merkle

While construction of the new mixed-use development at 420 N Cassady is underway, the Senior Center will temporarily operate out of Paramount Church. Any Recreation Guide programs listed as being hosted at the "Senior Center" will be at this temporary location. Please enter the parking lot from Merkle Road and use the double doors to access the Senior Center. Hours of operation vary based on programming, but staff can be reached by phone at (614) 559-4355 Monday-Friday 8 a.m.- 4:30 p.m.

Bexley SENIOR CENTER

Dating back nearly 40 years, a group of passionate residents organized themselves to plan trips, luncheons and other activities for older adults in Bexley. Today, we are adding to that vision by expanding services to our older adults. Thanks to the support of Mayor Ben Kessler and Bexley City Council, the Bexley Community Improvement Corporation (CIC) and a generous $30,000 grant from the Bexley Community Foundation (BCF), the Bexley Recreation and Parks opened the city’s first senior center located at 420 N. Cassady Ave. The new center is the cornerstone of a feasibility study to evaluate the demand for a more robust senior center to be developed in the years to come.

Bexley Senior Center

The Bexley Senior Center is available to all adults 55+, as both a gathering space and as a location for recreation programming. Some of the programs and activities include euchre, Mah Jongg, book clubs, art projects, lifelong learning opportunities, and more. Various events are held at the new senior center such as football watch parties, movie nights on the projector screen, mini concerts, lectures and more.

While we have continued to offer trip-based programming and some classes for 55+ at Jeffrey Mansion, the new senior center is a space dedicated to older adults in our community. This is a wonderful opportunity for our older adults to demonstrate the need for a larger, more permanent location in the future. We encourage our 55+ community to join the center and enjoy the benefits it has to offer. Together we will continue to expand and improve services to our older adults.
