As we all head into Thanksgiving weekend, I’m feeling extra thankful! Here are four things I’m grateful for this Thanksgiving! – BK
The People Who Keep Bexley Running
While most of us are thinking about turkey and travel, our service crews are deep in leaf season, police officers are on duty around the clock, and our administrative and rec teams are keeping the machinery of local government moving. I’m thankful for the folks who do the quiet, steady (and often thankless) work that makes everything else possible.
A Community That Shows Up
I’m thankful to live in a place where people genuinely care – where residents show up for meetings, surveys, community events, neighborhood projects, and the occasional sidewalk chat. Your engagement makes Bexley the big, bustling, (sometimes opinionated
) community family that it is… and I’m here and grateful for every part of it.
Steady Progress – Day by Day
This year has brought real movement on several fronts – Bexley’s largest mixed-use project breaking ground; new investment in water, sewer, and street infrastructure; the Bexley Skate Park and Schneider Bridge underway; progress on housing options; key legislation on ADUs, LinkUS, and e-bikes passing through City Council; and so much more. Progress in city government can be slow and steady (and sometimes even quick and nimble)… but it all adds up, and I’m grateful for the momentum we’re building together.
Family at the Table and in the Community
Like many of you, I’m looking forward to the joyful chaos of a full house this week. I’m also feeling especially grateful for family memories, including those sorely missed relatives whose absence is felt and whose influence is everywhere. And I’m thankful for the extended civic family I get to work with every day – this community is a true blessing – today, tomorrow, always.
