Michael Wilkos presented his second talk on regional growth and housing at the Bexley Public Library this week – both were fantastic. A highly recommend listen – check them out here.

Initial results on the Adirondack Chair Survey are in! I posted the surveylast month, and the general consensus is that bright colorful chairs can be fun in our parks, but readers prefer more classic, muted colors for our Main Street environment. Keep an eye out for additional seating options soon!

At our recent Land Use Strategy Commissiom meeting, working groups reported back on early recommendations coming out of the East Main Street; Livingston Avenue; North Cassady; residential areas; and partnerships/sustainability. Our resident survey is still live, and there’s a lot of work to be done before we hold a 2nd workshop in the summer to talk through draft recommendations coming out of the process.

Distracted driving is still a big and growing problem, and pedestrian fatalities are tragically on the rise as a result. Ohio recently passed a distracted driving law, and Bexley’s pre-existing law remains more rigorous. I know I’m not immune to the temptation to check a notification while driving, but this recent study from Cambridge Mobile Telematics should offer a stark reminder of what’s at stake when we drive distracted.
