Mayor Ben’s Four Things Friday – 3/22

Here are a few things happening in Bexley that (mostly) aren’t otherwise covered in this week’s Blast. Have a great weekend! – BK

At the March 12 City Council meeting, Council confirmed a resolution to unify the east and west sides of Commonwealth Park. With the final design of the connecting space pending, the City’s focus will be on completing the existing projects at the park and solidifying the unification plan. Keep an eye out for more information!

At this past week’s election day, a poll worker at Mees Hall shared with me this lovely care package dropped off for them by Capital University employees. Great community spirit from Capital!

This season’s round of Trash Talks are starting soon with options on March 28, April 6, and April 20. If you haven’t had the chance to participate in one of these, I hope you’ll join me this year. It’s a great way to brainstorm new ideas, ask your burning questions, and hear all the latest City scoop, all while we clean up litter around our community. Sign up here!

HEARTSafe Bexley has been such a great program, helping us to raise our awareness of sudden cardiac events and providing training to more than 300 people since its inception in October. If you haven’t had the chance to learn to save a life through free CPR/AED Training, there is a free class coming up on Saturday, April 6. This program goes hand-in-hand with a project in the works to increase access to lifesaving AED devices in Bexley’s public spaces, so stay tuned for more updates on this important initiative.
