Site preparation will begin soon for the pedestrian and cyclist bridge that will span Alum Creek, connecting Schneider Park with the Alum Creek Greenway trail. We’re thrilled to see this important project coming together, and look forward to this safe and beautiful connection between Bexley and other large regional trail systems. Please note, the site preparation for the bridge will require the removal of several trees near the creek at Schneider Park. Even when necessary, it’s always difficult to see trees bing removed, which is why we are working closely with our arborist team and the Ohio Department of Natural Resources to minimize the number of trees removed and to plan for new trees to plant (don’t worry – lots of new trees coming with this project!). And of course we look forward to the day when we’ll enjoy a serene walk or bike ride over Alum Creek without the worries of motorized traffic.
