UPDATE 10/18 at 10:30 am: The device was found to not be a bomb. We’ve received the all clear from the Columbus Bomb Squad.

This morning Bexley Police were called regarding a backpack that contained what appeared to be an explosive device and had been brought to an area nearby Montrose Elementary. While an initial assessment indicates that the device may be a prank, Columbus Fire Department has been called in out of an abundance of caution. School is out of session today so classes are not being disrupted. We will update this post as soon as more information arrives.
