Spring is officially here which means there will likely be rain in our forecast in the coming weeks! The rainy season provides a unique opportunity to study and better understand issues in our stormwater and sanitary sewers. As a vital part of our ongoing effort to identify and prioritize issues in our sewer system, and with the goal of effectively planning future improvements, the City of Bexley will be conducting water flow monitoring throughout the area over the coming weeks. The engineering firm of Burgess & Niple, Inc. has been contracted by the City to perform this evaluation.
This flow monitoring project will include the placement of water flow monitors, inspection of manholes, and the observation of water flow throughout the City, particularly during significant rain events. In order to ensure accurate and comprehensive data, the crews may need access to alleys and yards for field investigations. Please also note that during rainy weather, some drainage observations may take place overnight or during early morning hours to ensure a robust understanding of drainage during peak flow times. If you see a technician in the area but are uncertain as to their identity, don’t hesitate to ask for identification. And if you have questions, don’t hesitate to reach out to us at tsalmons@bexley.org or by phone at 614-559-4273.
