Yard Sale & Freecycle Day
This annual event is a great opportunity for residents to discard unwanted, usable items and re-home them to neighbors. Conversely, residents are able to obtain new-to-them items for a fraction of the price. In addition to keeping items out of the landfill, these events allow residents the opportunity to mingle and enjoy the outdoors!

Program Details & Registration
Saturday, May 6 and Sunday, May 7 from 8:00 am - 1:00 pm - Community Yard Sale:
The Community Yard Sale will run from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm. Any resident may host a yard sale, provided they register with City Hall. Yard sales may be held in the front yard for this one day only, but may not be held on or in front of the sidewalk or in the street. Registration is free!
Saturday, May 6 and Sunday, May 7 from 1:00 - 5:00 pm – Community Freecycle Event:
The Community Freecycle event will run from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm, immediately following the community yard sale. During these hours, residents may place items that are unsold between the sidewalk and the curb. Items that do not fit in this area may be placed directly behind the sidewalk (between the sidewalk and the house). Items or groupings of items must be clearly marked as free for the taking, and must be marked "Freecycle Day."
Leftover Items?
Any items not taken by 5:00 pm on Sunday must be removed from the front yard and disposed of or recycled via other means. You are encouraged to donate or recycle items if possible.
This map is current as of noon on May 5, 2023.
Additional Information
Nope! We ask that you indicate whether you'll be hosting a yard sale, freecycle event, or both upon registering.
No, that is not mandatory. If you'd like to indicate that your items are free for taking, we've created this permission slip that you can print and display during your freecycle sale.
The City will advertise this event throughout May, leading up to May 6. Ultimately, the advertisement of individual sales is up to the person hosting the sale. We will be creating an interactive map of locations participating in this event, but we recommend if you're hosting a yard sale that you share the information with family, friends, and neighbors!
Bexley Yard Sale & Freecycle Day happens rain or shine! It is up to the individual host whether they have items out for sale in the event of inclement weather.
No, it is the responsibility of the owner to supply them. We recommend sharing materials with a neighbor, family member, or a friend who is also hosting a sale!
