Earth and Arbor Month is officially and there are a slew of upcoming activities throughout April to celebrate our planet and trees. More information about these events and others is available at Hope to see you there!

Trash Talk, Saturday, April 6 at 10:00 am
With the weather warming and spring on our doorstep, it’s a good time to tackle a little spring cleaning in our community. Mayor Ben will be hosting this year’s first Trash Talk with the Mayor, a community cleanup where volunteers preregister for a one hour, small group litter cleanup event with the Mayor. This is a one-on-one chance to get a city update, heckle, or brainstorm over a trash picker, some work gloves, and a big orange trash bag, all while helping to improve our community. Register here

Repair Café, Sunday, April 7 from 12:00-3:00 pm
What do you do with a broken toaster? Or with a sweater full of moth holes? Toss it? No way! On April 7 at City Hall, everything centers on making repairs. Throughout the afternoon, community members can bring their broken items to the City’s first Repair Café, where volunteers will be on hand to make repairs free of charge. Preregistration is encouraged here

“Wise Trees,” Wednesday, April 10 from 1:30-3:00 pm
In a tribute to Arbor Day, photographers Diane Cook and Len Jenshel will speak about their book, Wise Trees.  Their project documents over 50 remarkable trees across 5 continents, trees that have witnessed great moments in history, survived catastrophic events and nurtured spiritual connections.  Along with their stunning photographs, Cook and Jenshel will speak to the extraordinary stories these trees have to tell. The Green Bexley Cleanup and DEA Takeback Day will be held on April 27th. If you’d like to volunteer for this event, please do so here. This event is only possible with the help of volunteers; thank you in advance!
