Notice – Flood Watch in Effect 4/1-4/2

Monday, Apr 1, 2024 at 12:33 pm

Bexley residents are advised that a Flood Watch will be in effect for Franklin County beginning today, Monday, April 1, at 2:00 pm through 8:00 pm tomorrow, Tuesday, April 2. With heavy rain last night, and one to two more inches of accumulation expected tonight, the City encourages residents to keep a close watch on their properties. Thunderstorms and strong winds are also forecasted. For up-to-date weather alerts, check here.

Taking these steps during heavy rain can help you spot issues quickly:

  • Inspect gutters and downspouts to ensure proper flow
  • Double check to ensure your sump pump is powered and running smoothly
  • Keep an eye on your basement, especially if your property is prone to flooding

Should you experience basement flooding, please complete the Flood Report Form linked below. Your responses will be used by the Service Department to help determine types and causes of basement flooding and for long-range capital improvement project consideration.

Note – as much as we wish it were, this Flood Watch and list of tips are not an April Fools joke. Please take appropriate action to help protect your home against flooding.
