Fourth of July Theme – help us decide! This week the Bexley Celebrations & Events Team met, and brainstormed Bexley-flavored riffs in the vein of America 250. If you have an idea for this year’s theme that is America 250 adjacent with a Bexley twist, shoot me an email and I’ll get it in the hopper for consideration!
The Pickleball Lights are up and live in time for some spring Pickleball action! I wanted to extend a huge thank you to the Bexley Community Foundation for their generous financial support of this project through their Ryan Solomon Memorial Fund – just another way in which the BCF is helping us make meaningful investments in all areas of our community.
Last weekend we boiled, skimmed, and filtered over 500 gallons of sugar maple sap into 132 bottles of sweet sweet “Kelveden” Maple Syrup at the Jeffrey Woods Festival. The first bottles off the line go to program participants, but we’ll have some for sale on Arbor Day in late April, as well as a chance to sample the syrup in latte’s and cocktails from The Lion on Arbor Day!
Congratulations to Bexley resident Naava Schottenstein, recently named NBC4’s 2026 Remarkable Woman of the Year. A scientist, educator, and founder of BrainBloom Academy, Naava has dedicated her work to sparking curiosity in young learners through hands-on STEAM education and mentorship. Honors like this remind us that the real strength of a community lies in the people who invest in the next generation, helping young minds see new possibilities for themselves and the world around them. Congratulations to Naava on this well-deserved recognition a and thank you for helping inspire the scientists, thinkers, and problem-solvers of tomorrow!
