Mayor Ben’s “Four” Things Friday
Here are a few things happening in Bexley that (mostly) aren’t otherwise covered in this week’s Blast. Have a great weekend! – BK

It’s official – Katalina’s is coming to Bexley! In December, we started working closely with reps from the Harrison West and Clintonville cafe to encourage Katalina’s exploration of space at the former Boston Market, and this week we’re excited to share the news that Katalina’s – the “little cafe with lots of local goodness” is bringing their world famous breakfast, brunch, and lunch food to Bexley. With a targeted opening date in the summer, we just can’t wait for some patio brunch on Main!

If you’ve wondered what that beautiful structure is that is talking shape at Alum Creek Drive south of Livingston Avenue, it’s the newly complete Middle West Spirits distillery, and its economic footprint in the Livingston/Alum Creek corridor will be substantial. Last year, the Bexley CIC met with leaders from Middle West to learn how we can be supportive of their success and the positive impact it will bring to the area. We’re excited to have this use in a neighboring area and can’t wait to see the project continue to progress! To learn more, check out this recent article from Columbus Navigator.

What if Commonwealth east and west became one big, cohesive park? We’re newly exploring the possibilities in light of design work that has gone into the Commonwealth projects.  We’ll be discussing the pros and cons and asking for your feedback at a workshop this upcoming Wednesday, January 24 at 5:30 pm at City Hall – if you love the idea, please come and let us know! If you’re not a big fan – ditto. Hope to see you then!

If you’ve noticed the orange adirondack chairs at the new firepit at Schneider Park, you’ve certainly noticed the pop of color and energy they bring! We’re curious to hear feedback on the brighter color and what you’d like to see in a larger rollout of these comfy and social chairs. We’ve put together a short poll to hear from you – click here to provide your perspective!
