Here are some projects that are currently underway – and one bonus project featured in our 2026 budget – that you might not otherwise know about! – BK

Pool / Lower Meadows Parking Lot
The reconfigured pool parking lot is going to be a lot safer for those going to and from their cars, and restructures the lot to better highlight the Alum Creek frontage at Jeffrey Park. Curbs are in, asphalt is under way, and plantings will be installed over this fall and the upcoming spring. Check it out next time you’re driving past on Clifton!

Pickleball lights
The upgraded tennis court lights and new pickleball lights at Jeffrey Park are currently undergoing installation. The new lights use LED tech to more directly illuminate the courts with less light bleed into surrounding areas, and they’re made possible in part thanks to the generous support of – you guessed it – the Bexley Community Foundation!

South Remington Water Mains
Crews are beginning work on the replacement of the water main on Remington Road between Main and Livingston. This project will also provide residents with galvanized lines the opportunity to proactively replace with the assistance of a low-interest loan from the city payable back over 5 years. The water main replacement is funded with the help of Ohio Public Works Commission grant and zero interest loan funds, and is part of the City’s ongoing work to replace historic water mains in all areas of the community.2026 Budget Highlight – Future Project – Bexley Senior Center
Continuing this months’ focus on the 2026 budget proposals, let’s talk about a project that’s anticipated for 2026 – the new home of the Bexley Senior Center! The current temporary Senior Center space is located at 420 N Cassady, which is exactly where the new center will be, in a permanent (50%+ larger) space, on the first floor of the proposed mixed use development, which will feature 16 new one and two bedroom apartment units on the second and third floors.

Bonus project: I’ve already talked about this one, but if you haven’t walked past the skate park install at Schneider Park yet, I recommend a gander! Easiest access is from the Astor entrance to Schneider – just head south on the path and you can’t miss it.
